Sweeten your Tokyo trip with Chocobo and Slime taiyaki! These adorable treats are available at Katsugorou near Shinjuku Station.
Fans of Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest can now enjoy themed taiyaki at Katsugorou in Shinjuku. These pancake-like sweets are shaped like Chocobos and Slimes, filled with custard and anko (sweet red bean paste), respectively. The wrappers are also themed, adding to the fun.
Located on the first floor of Paselabo Tower, Katsugorou is easily accessible from Shinjuku Station. The shop is part of a collaboration with Square Enix, so you can enjoy these treats alongside other themed events, such as the Final Fantasy IX 25th-anniversary cafe.
While slightly pricier than typical street sweets at 540 yen, the Chocobo-yaki and Slime-yaki offer a unique and tasty experience for gamers and those seeking cute Japanese snacks. According to staff, they will be available for the foreseeable future.
