Ofuro Cafe Hareniwa no Yu, near a major green onion-producing town, Fukaya, is offering a special 'Negirai Bath' (green onion bath) for Labor Day (Nov 24). The bath is available for a limited time, November 22-24, in both men's and women's outdoor baths.
Located in Kumagaya, Saitama, the bathhouse is easily accessible from Tokyo. Visitors can experience this unusual bath and even receive a complimentary packet of green onions to take home, while supplies last.
If you miss the green onion bath, don't worry! The bathhouse will also host a yuzu citrus fruit bath from December 19-22, offering another traditional Japanese bathing experience.
