All Lotteria fast food restaurants in Japan will close by the end of March, rebranding as Zetteria. Travelers may notice the change, but the menu will largely remain the same.
Lotteria, a familiar fast-food chain in Japan since 1972, will disappear by March 31st as all remaining 106 locations rebrand to Zetteria. Zetteria is owned by Zensho, also the parent company of Sukiya beef bowl restaurants.
While the name changes, many Lotteria favorites, like the shrimp burger and Zeppin burger, will still be available at Zetteria. However, presentation and buns may vary. Limited-edition items have also transitioned smoothly between the brands.
Lotteria restaurants outside Japan, run by Lotte GRS, are unaffected. So, if you're visiting Japan, expect Zetteria instead of Lotteria for your fast-food fix.
