Japanese railway company Sotetsu is selling actual ticket gates to fans. These decommissioned gates offer a unique piece of Japanese railway history for collectors and enthusiasts.
Sotetsu, a railway company in Kanagawa Prefecture, is offering fans a chance to own a piece of railway history: actual automated ticket gates. The company is selling Omron PG-R series ticket gates previously used in their stations.
Each gate is priced at 200,000 yen (US$1,335), with Sotetsu recommending purchasing both to recreate a complete station entrance. The company even added wheels for easier relocation within your home or collection space.
Due to high demand, the initial offering was decided by lottery. However, with Sotetsu planning ticket gate renovations until 2027, more decommissioned gates may become available, offering future opportunities for purchase.
